Ekukhanyeni: A Sanctuary of Light and Healing in Mpumalanga
Ekukhanyeni, meaningThe Place of Light, is our retreat center nestled in the mountains of Mpumalanga Province in South Africa. Acquired by Mamkhulu.org in 2017, Ekukhanyeni serves as both an income-generating model and a permeant safe home for our camps and youth programs.
Throughout the years, Ekukhanyeni has served as a venue for relationship building. We have hosted psychosocial support camps annually for our orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). The facility has also accommodated hundreds of other both large and small groups who come to enjoy this peaceful mountain side retreat centre. We are open and invite visitors to come pray on the mountain.
Guest House and Chapel
Private rooms, meeting rooms, a dining room, a lounge, a swimming pool, and a private stone chapel are all situated on this quiet mountainside.
Camp Activities
With a variety of customized activities available, program team leaders will design activities and schedules that meet the goals and needs of each group.
Camp Dormitories
Ekukhanyeni has four dormitories with more than 100 beds, making us an ideal venue for large groups looking for accommodations.
Ekukhanyeni Retreat Centre
This mountainside retreat centre welcome large and small groups for private events. The Ekukhanyeni Retreat Centre is home base for Mamkhulu.org.
